Christopher Baird (b. 1995) is currently a Doctoral Music candidate studying Percussion Performance at Florida State University. His primary instruction is under the tutelage of John W. Parks IV. At FSU, Baird teaches undergraduate percussion lessons along with coaching percussion ensembles and has taught the Percussion Techniques course to undergraduate music education students. Christopher holds a master’s degree from Florida State University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in music at the University of Central Florida. His previous instructors include Dr. Thad Anderson, Prof. Kirk J. Gay, and Dean Jeffrey M. Moore.
Baird has been an active part in the percussion community. He has judged Florida All-County events in Brevard county as well as giving hand drum clinics at the University of Central Florida
Summer Institute, along with the FSU Summer Music camps. Baird has experience in multiple areas of percussion including classical percussion, orchestral percussion, drum set and jazz
vibraphone, steel band, Brazilian music, African hand drumming, and Venezuelan maracas. Baird is currently a member of the Green Vibes Collective.
